Shailesh Lodha On QUITTING Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: ‘Kuch Toh Majbooriyan Rahi Hongi, I Am A Sentimental Fool’
Shailesh Lodha opens up about leaving 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' and calls himself a sentimental fool!
TV actor Shailesh Lodha became a popular household name with his outstanding performance in the show ‘Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah’ where he played a titular character. After being a part of the show for 14 long years, he quit it and is now replaced by actor Sachin Shroff. In a recent interview, Shailesh has now opened up about leaving Sony SAB TV’s popular comedy sitcom and called himself a ‘sentiment foul.’
Speaking to RJ Siddharth Kannan, the comedian stated that he will reveal the actual reason behind leaving TMKOC at the right time. Shailesh also revealed his state of mind by narrating a few lines from popular Indian poet Bashir Badr’s verse. He was quoted saying, “Kuch toh majbooriyan rahi hongi, yun hi koi bewafa nahi hota. Indians are quite emotional. I call myself a sentimental fool. It's natural to get attached when you do something for 14 years. I am an impatient man. But the show taught me patience. It’s not like I won’t reveal why I left the show. I will say but only at the right time.”
In August, Shailesh took an indirect dig at the show’s producer and creator Asit Kumarr Modi with his poem on Girgit where he talked about how people change very fast like chameleons.
